I wonder if (from the perspective of DBG PR) the NYT qualifies as a member of "a few gaming sites"?

Oy. Seriously, I played this game to get away from real world tomfoolery, only to find it follows us in...

Never Do Business With Russians, an ongoing series...

I woke up this morning to my radio - while still lying in bed - talking about this and heard "Columbus Nova" and was like what? Crazy times.

    Dear Daybreak Games:

    Thank You!

You have provided me with substantially more entertainment during the last thirty days than I have had since your acquisition by unconfirmed entanglements of nebulous persons, organizations, and corporate entities.

I mean, porn stars, dirty lawyers, election tampering, Russians, the FBI, shell corps, vehement denials, internet information gas lighting...

And throughout all this, the eq2 franchise has managed to preserve.....NAY!.....Dramatically enhance your goodwill with current and former customers by providing us with an amazing number of familiars nicely packaged inside loot boxes, character progression goals unattanable without cash shop expenditures, and recycled content.

The only way you could possibly make this show any better is to put Kander, Caith, and Mooncast in charge of PR so we can watch them try to ban the media for asking questions.

You Sirs and Madames, have achieved near perfection in epic train wreckery.

    #movie of the year

Wait, it gets better. The info on the records for this came from someone who legally shouldn't even have access to the records yet, since discovery hasn't kicked in...seriously, it's like two separate carnival sideshows collided and turned into one ginormous freakshow...

Honestly, I need a new hobby.

So according to CNN and other news outlets.....Mueller began interviewing companies paying money to Essential Consultants LLC in.............November of 2017.

Let's see.....when did Epstein claim he separated from CN?

Oh, that's right. November of 2017.

    From massively's post already referenced.....

"Update #2: NBC is reporting that “Columbus Nova has also registered many alt-right internet domains, though the domains return an error message,” implying that the company was used for other nefarious purposes within the US as well."

Two highlights of the domains just from that update's link to Ben Collins' twitter post... 'alt-right (dot) com' and 'cnnjournal (dot) com' ... Absolutely a case of playing mommy against daddy.

Never thought Daybreak was the ONLY thing Columbus Nova owned, and every company has some skeletons, I'm sure, but this is pretty surprising even still.

Kind of like you can't blame the cashier at walmart for something that happened in Arkansas, so too I don't feel right in blaming a developer for the choices of a Russian oligarch or his shell companies. It's not the fault of the developers of the daybreak titles that their boss's bosses were piddling with politics.

But this really doesn't sit well with me - both for where my money went, and what may come next.

How deep is this rabbit hole? Will it turn out that CN used DBG to launder money through the micro transactions? It would be really interesting if someone could dig into the cash flow between DBG and CN, specially now that DBG have said they never had any affiliation with CN.

Indeed, I can't really say it better myself, what pure bullshit it all is.

People keep focusing on micro transactions, but there is no need for them. Can simply be done with loans and repayments for working capital or investment capital from CN ->DBG.

Yeah, I was originally worried about credit card info back in the day, but this is looking far more likely now.

As part of a class action lawsuit settlement, Columbus Nova and Daybreak Games have agreed that during the 2016 election, your All Access subscription was used in part to fund the election of Donald Trump. As part of the settlement, Columbus Nova and Daybreak Games admit no wrongdoing, however to settle concerns raised by the Department of Justice, said companies have agreed to provide affected parties with a $10 coupon redeemable at any Trump-owned property or the Trump apparel website.

Is it a bad sign that I can't even be completely sure if this is a joke or not?

    I mean, it's a joke, right?

    Right?
