Will Daybreak games shut down in 2 months?

Is it just me that even finds it suspicious that shortly after the announcement post about Daybreak Games Ownership was posted, someone necroed about the only open post (the Drunder FAQs one) so the thread title Regarding Daybreak’s Ownership is now no longer right at the top of their forum?

    Lays off 70 odd people......

Advertising 49 job openings on their website...

Either, (1) more misinformation/deception, or (2) douche bags

I posted this on another forum, but that's not uncommon.

I did think of that. Just seems to me better to give inside folks the opportunity before laying them off.

Dunno. I know it's also done the way you described. I just hate that.

Well, is a common operation, because is cheap. And help to avoid salary increase.

But.. we don't know if the page is updated (because they need Web Developer to.. lol), we don't know if the job are full time indefinite, or 3 months part time project...

When I looked at their job board, I immediately wished I a taken a screen shot of it 6 months ago because most of those postings looked really, really familiar.

Given this company's love of deception and manipulation , my instinct was to assume they have left rose postings up to make the company appear stronger than it really is.

I suppose I can figure out how to do the Google cache look-up thingie that is all the rage these days.

Well, once you deleted H1Z1 and just survive from the list.. or the unannounced project (lol), the "real" list become very short.

And the current page at DBG.

    Does that help?

... Why do I feel the "Unannounced Project" is directly related to web-scrubbing, trail elimination, slight-of-hand, and plausible deniability?

Hmmm...the Wayback Machine links don't actually show the jobs though - just the general careers page. Unless I'm doing something wrong?

They don't show up for me unless I refresh the page a hundred times. The same thing happens on their current page, no idea why.

Because the job information aren't located directly in the page. Even if you "open" a job position, the page link don't change.

Someone posted on EQ Agnarr subreddit, but main message was deleted:

Take it with a grain of salt, not confirmed in any way.

    Thanks!

    Near as I can tell...

    1. Non-dev positions (sitting for several years) were recently taken down.

    2. Some H1Z1 stuff still sitting there - I can find no logical reason for this.

    3. Lots of "unknown project" stuff - looking forward to the complete whoring out of the eq franchise to a subscription based p2w design to be released 11 years from now.

If the stuff about eq3 is anywhere near true, then:

    1. Leverage the eq franchise
    2. Copy Pantheon's design.
    3. Make it a fantasy royale PvP game cause that's where the interest and cash shop revenue is ***right now***.

How utterly innovative and forward thinking. I'm sure no one will beat them to the market with a superior game years before they go into alpha.

In fact, I can think of a few PvP centric titles coming out in the next couple of years that could easily layer in a battle royal environment.

They will release their battle royale EQ3 just as the bottom falls out of that market.

If they stopped wasting so much energy chasing fads, they could have had a good game out years ago.

The only thing that gives that EQ3 battle royale rumor weight is just how intensely dumb DBG has been over the years. they jsut might be stupid enough to do it.
