What happened to intellectual honesty?

That is a glorious piece of bubblegomery.

It's all there: Misrepresentation, passive-aggressive condescension, "put the effort in", adamant denial of p2w design, and best part of all, citing an award-winning bubble gnome to give the post credibility.

 

There is some truth to this, however... the problem comes in when if you don't pay most of the server is ahead of you and you end up alone and struggling to find others willing to run what is considered the older content.

You cant grab a friend or two to run the heroic content because you need a fully kitted out group to run heroics.

The game no longer has the population to support those who want to stop and smell the flowers and catch up later, the devs have designed it that way for one reason only..you pay to win or get left behind.
I feel for the new players that never get the chance to experience the older content the way we did, there was a lot of very well done stuff in expansions of old.

 

Or find anything higher than master ascensions scrolls this tier. This requires you to back track and do weekly heroic quests in PoP plus at least T3 weekly raid weekly for books/scrolls. Same with the goblin earring, requires you to kill the Kly which still requires a full group (but then you can just burn him)

Then you have ancient spells for current tier. All the ancient that have been discovered so far has been from the pre order crates. The celestial scrolls dropping in raid content? Well, you need ancient before you can use it, which again requires either INSANE RNG or researching it.

There is a lot of stuff that requires other people and even when you finally manage to get the people together, the RNG will murder your desire for any progression.

As you can see I put in a lot of hours on it already. On top of these hours I spent $249.99 on the expensive expansion pack. On top of that I bought 25,000 DBC for $212 to research some spells. On top of that, I bought 15 krono for $120 to afford upgrading ascensions, combat arts, gear platium infusion and getting consumeables. I currently have 12 million platium left in my bags.

After I spent those $581 I still parse 5-7 billion less compared to other T1s and I used to be a T1 dps for a WW top 3 guild two years ago.

Spending this is the bare minimum a T1 dps has to spend to not get carried by his guildies. Its insane. Obviously if you have been playing nonstop you could potentially afford most of it with just platium and DBC gifting.

I like playing eq2 still, for what ever reason, but when people post claims that the game is not p2w they are plain out wrong and lying to other players.

 

Keep up or get out. No one is forcing you to keep up, but you better do it. Now go review your options and get it done.

Also, how can DBG add something like this and you still have people playing this game claim that its not pay to win.



I dont understand what these people get out of it lying to returning or new players. They are more than blind at this point or dont understand how the game works and plays.

 

This a big part of what has thrown a wrench into the Bubble Gnome lectures.

Up to this point, the stripping down of content has actually worked in their favor, because (I suspect) many of them are content to harvest for hours a day, run solos on 9 toons for transmute fodder, and run a heroic or two for upgrades, more transmuting, or SLR.

This expansion has kicked Bubble Gnomes right in the giblits, because for the first time, the way THEY like to play ths game has been decimated.

Who gives a crap about rares?

Crafting books locked behind a massive rng wall.

Limited charge adornment recipies.

Transmuting and heroic gear is mostly worthless.

Most of the stuff worth having is no trade.

The harvesting level information was just icing in the cake. That's just Caith and Kander sending a message: "In case you haven't figured it out by now, things have changed."

Now, don't get me wrong. It's okay for people to like spending 10 hours a day doing all that stuff - It used to be one way to play the game.

But to imply people are lazy or dependent on instant gratification because they didn't like playing that way, and using that reasoning to deny coercive p2w game design was beyond annoying.

And like I said, now that the way they like to play has finally been hammered, THEY'RE ticked off (well, a good portion of them).

Course, there'll still be some who are content to piddle around with virtually no content, and that's fine. They'll keep paying their subs and DBG will be delighted about that.

 

Raiding is no better off this expac. That **** is constantly broken. But you're right.

 

You would think Benito would tell Breanna to stop liking every single one of his posts. She did that with Dannni and one other person that I forget, it's what led a lot of folks paying attention at the time to believe (and I think rightfully so) they're related/sock accounts.

That was even pointed out at the time.

Welp, I just found the p2w thread. Glad to see more and more people calling Benito out for the dumbass and troll that he is.

Also good to see people using him to illustrate the general tendency of bubble gnomes to be dishonest with their posts.

 

There are 2 people "white knighting" on the Forums at the moment.
There is "Riff", "Razz" or "Raff" (can't remember his name), he is simply mocking people. He usually says "Its only a game get over it". I somewhat can tolerate that..

Than there is "Benito"...........
What tells you everything you need to know about him..is that he always needs to have the last Word.....

All he does is waiting for a topic to be critical about certain elements of the game and he jumps in. Only driven to hijack topics and get them locked.

In a P2W Thread he literally says " I don't play EQ2, only EQ1 at the moment" how can Dreamweaver not see that this is trolling.

He got me completed lost when he compared DoF, KoS and i believe EoF to CD and Luclin. He said that those expansions were equally bad (as in same amount people complaint as much ) and CD is decent.

 

I was about to say expect some (un)familiar faces to be in this forum soon.
