I don't know how they bring someone in, educate them in 16 year old systems, and have them up and contributing in 2 weeks. Fresh blood is much needed, but this seems odd timing if the goal is new ideas at this late stage.

It's not a coding position. It looks like a cross between a data entry position, a black box QA position and a user experience consultant

^ This bit's wrong. Doesn't that happen on the live servers 3 months after launch when Kander finally gives in to the furore and realises he can't get away with dumping crafting after all - yet?

Basically that's how it already is currently. It's by far the best way to get the TS books.

Design Documents are proposals written months or even a year in advance to plot out new content and expansions, chiefly zone concepts, quests, npcs, encounters, systems, and game features. They're an internal roadmap.

I suppose it's possible this job is going to have the employee talk to designers and transcribe what they're doing into a document form, but that would be backwards of how it's been done and would really be a "documentation" job. Maybe a higher up is insisting on documentation of what the team is doing? That would be odd.

The rest of the job does sound like some targeted QA.

Not sure why they'd need that at this stage. Isn't that what players are for? :D

They also have open positions for a Tools Engineer and a temp Software Engineer. I fell like those have been on there forever though. But yeah, I can't see how they would be able to onboard someone so close to an expansion release, so one has to assume the "special" new project they are referring to is something post-expansion. Hey - maybe they're "designing" a new TLE experience! I mean, the amount they screw around with them time after time they may as well be designing the damn things from scratch.

LOL at them using a tiny font in their OP. Touché. But yeah, especially with 4K monitors gaining traction these days, it seems like they should do something about that. Is that something that can be controlled through UI addons?

Forget 4k, some of us geriatrics could use some help with normal resolutions! I keep meaning to dig into some of the files and look at the options in there for fonts. I had a dig at the book window a while back and the files seem to point at sections in font files that can be amended. copied and changed and then point to new ones. But I'm only a hobby programmer and digging through xml and the like is hard work these days so I never got very far. And of course you'd have to do every piece that contained essential text, which is a bunch of windows :(

The expac data must be located in the same place as Trumps evidence of fraudulent voting!

Oh yeah. Zen Master (a sock puppet of Benito?) is like "what do you mean? Expansions have always been revealed with a single page of text" as if Fan Faire and livestreams never happened.
