So our clues for quest 2 are Gorynn, Gynok, Time Travel...

    Some lore:

    The History of Gynok Moltor

Gynok hailed from Qeynos. As a youth he studied under the battle masters of the Steel Warriors. Under the rule of Antonius Bayle II, The Great Defender. He joined the Qeynos Guard and quickly rose in their ranks. It was not long until he was bestowed the title of Captain and appointed Captain of the Tower Guard. Gynok was a great Captain that led many successful campaigns along the Tunarian Coastline. He wielded a Magic sword called the Bone Blood Claymore that he earned in battle against a horde of demons.

It was Gynok’s bigotry towards all non humans that led to the eternal war between the Gnolls and Humanity. The gnolls of Blackburrow sought a peaceful relationship with the humans of Qeynos. Led by the High Shaman Opolla, the gnolls approached Gynok in peace, wishing to establish a treaty between themselves and Qeynos. Gynok was overwhelmed with his hatred of these sub-humans and struck out with his claymore, a unique sword with a blade made of bone. It chopped through Opolla’s hand. The war between the gnolls and humans had begun.

Gynok was stripped of his rank and exiled. The High Shaman of the Gnolls, Opolla, placed a curse upon him and all his descendants. He departed the Kingdom of Qeynos with a small contingency of loyal troops who shared his bigotry. The curse placed upon Gynok brought death to all those around him, as his troops soon learned. Gynok’s death march led him to the foothills of the Commonlands where his lust and skill for battle helped forge his alliance with the Order of Marr’s Fist. Unfortunately for that entire order, Gynok’s curse remained and caused the destruction of them all.

    _

Gorynn: Champion of Zek. Gorynn is a member of a tall, very muscular, four armed humanoid race indigenous to the Plane of War. It is here that he has earned and retains the title of Champion of Zek. Gorynn once ruled as a great general in the Army of Zek, but has since moved on to become the champion of the Plane of War's grand arena. He has bested and laid waste to thousand of competitors. Rallos Zek admires his skill and ferocity in combat, and has allowed Gorynn to build one secluded arena of majestic proportions upon each world that the god of war touches. Many believe this is where The Arena that was once found in the Rathe Mountains of old, off the shores of Lake Rathetear, came from. Gorynn's primary followers are, of course, Gladiators. Tributes to him can be found in almost every arena in Norrath, but especially among the Rallosian races, where victory in the Arena, can mean status within society. And to the victor, goes the spoils.

So far I've checked out everything I can think of related to Zek/Plane of War, Gorynn, and some of the time travel stuff

Checked all the fighter related buildings/areas with fighter trainers in Freeport/Qeynos/Neriak/Maj'dul
    Tower of the Moon
Checked the first few NPCs related to the bruiser epic (Gorynn's Fist)
    All Towers/outposts in Antonica
All 5 heroic zones in Drunder (spire, stronghold, tower, EoW (EM/HM))
Scourge Wastes Heroic (just checked in all the tents didn't do anything extensive)
    All of the Befallen zones
    Kaladim (Arena)
    Blackburrow (Opolla reference)
    Monk area in PoF
    Tabernacle of Pain in KJ
All the heroic zones in Skyshrine

the clue we have is that followers of Gorynn, or group with strong gladiatorial traditions, might have the books we need, called the Way of the Warrior. I'm starting to think it mioght be in the Ruins od Cabalis zone, since we know the Swifttails rise in rank through gladiator combat (the shackle line) and the last named in there is a monk, maybe he has the book we're looking for.

this might be grasping at straws, but anyone try heading tothe battlegrounds and seeing if a merchant sells the book(s) in there?

I just even tried the battlegrounds, nothing there. I cna't think of anyplace we haven't checked that would make sense for it to be at.

I'm seriously starting to wonder if the thing is evenin the game at this point. we've checked every arena, every fighter guild, and pretty much every instance that even remotely revolved or has a fighter feel to it. and we've found nothing.

It's possible it is gated behind faction or questlines...the priests have been having a heck of a time with faction and quest requirements (White Dragonscale Cloak, Guktan, Othmir, Cobalt Scar quests, and so on).

I'm really hoping that "anyone who ever followed the writings of Gorynn" or "has had gladiator customs or beliefs" isn't a diety thing...

but even faction merchant still show us what they have even if you don't have the faction. and we haven't seen a book on any faction merchant either

I mean we've checked Drunder, all instances, all the Kael instances, Kael contested, all the city guilds, ruins of cabalis, the tabernacle of pain (with max faction) all 4 skyshrine instances, contested skyshrine, all 3 Befallen's, I even checked the battlegrounds and the hua mien, we checked the Tower in Mara, the monks in PoF, Maj'dul...the under arena in Sinkign sands, the clefts of rujark fabled...I can't think of anyplace else left to check that would make any sense for it to be at given the clue they gave us.

The thing is that from what I've seen of the scout shiny collection step is that they had some level of a prompt for "This is something personal" rather then "Find a general thing", which currently our's is "Find a general thing".

What about Fallen Gate? If I remember right there was an arena area towards the back.

The zone that makes the most sense is Befallen: Halls of the Forsaken...it has Gynok, Order of Marr's Fist (Fighter's/Gladiators, even the statues in the zone look like gladiators), and time suspension. The room in the center with "A Suspended Hourglass" with the text "The sands of time flow through this hourglass". And when you place all the statues you get the text "Time seems to stand still". Add that to the fact the entire point of the zone is to "Drive off Gynok's inner demons". There are 3 books in the room with Tsiet'Sozit, on the 3 different stone benches, but none of them are clickable for me before or after clearing the whole zone.

Just seems like a lot of coincidences to all occur in the same zone, but not be an update. Then again maybe it's the update for the step right after this...

I tried highhold keep, but I can't kill the last guy thanks to scripting solo. I thought maybe him mostly cause of the comments he makes during the fight of 'I've wielded a sword longer then you've drawn breath' that he does before you have to sunder it. think it'll take at least 3 people to do his fight for the clicking. But honestly that's really the last possibly logical place it can be.
