Every item in EQ2 can have a description. However I am going to presume there's a piece of code that, for all items with the "harvestable" flag, automatically display the message "This raw harvest looks as if it could be used for crafting level itemlevel - (itemlevel+9) items." There is an exception for itemlevel 90 items as they are for crafting level 90-95 items.

Wait, so they're relying on the fan sites they've been systematically alienating? Not a wise plan.

It also stole the dude that was modernizing EQ2's graphics.

All good. :p Also I forgot about Jason Crawford (sorry Jason!) who was also there when I started, but got stolen away to Next eventually.

He came back because he didn't like working on Next/Landmark, that's why AoM started looking so much better in terms of zone art. Unfortunately, he was part of the layoffs that we're coming on the five year anniversary of (six more days!) which is a shame, because he was doing a great job. I loved how AoM looked, especially compared to everything that came before it.

Wait, is the level 90-95 pseudo-tier what's being used as an excuse for wiping level info on EVERYTHING?

I can't remember if there's more than one tier of this type, but still.

The tiers were a mess from TSO on. "Void gear" was effectively a tier of its own. Same pattern in SF and the next couple of xpacs. Itemization hasn't been right since.

The process as you describe it would explain how it probably took Caith all of 7 seconds to completely shift the problem from himself to his customers.

I usually only deal with current expansion harvests, so it really doesn't affect me that much. I don't think I ever really paid attention to the description.
I always had to look up which zone the damn node was in if I needed an earlier tier harvest! :p
Did they say harvests will still sort by tier in harvest depots? Sorry, I thought I had seen that mentioned somewhere.

Ah, thank you. I never paid much attention to the crap outside of the standard crafted/mastercrafted gear, consumables and housing items.

I still maintain it's not a sufficient reason to trash the existing classification system.

Crafting and harvesting were fairly consistent for the normal essentials and advamced recipes up until the Withered Lands expansion. I think that's when we got the strange half tier harvests because of the 5 level increase? And they changed book naming, how recipe books were obtained and barely bothered to give us a quest line. I think this must have been when Domino first moved over to EQN and whoever got saddled with the new crafting content obviously decided to make it up as they went along instead of following the well established patterns. It improved for a couple of expansions when Domino returned and then they started to seriously break things when she left after KA.

I've pretty much accepted that the crafting game no longer exists for me after level 100, but this new trend of going back and breaking stuff below level 100 that was working fine has me seriously upset.

The unofficial shoehorning of two tiers into a 10 level spread had been going for a while, but the AoD/Withered Lands business...that was a whole different kettle of stupid.

No question. If I was still active I'd be brushing off my old harvest guides, revising them for new content (which I used to do each xpac), and releasing them on the broker...not that there's anybody left for an audience.

I keep looking at the Kander thread and I bet he hasn't even been back to it to see the replies.
    Such an arrogant {edited}.

I'm going to bet he didn't even write it. Thread title 'A Note from Kander'. Or is he one of these 'I speak in the third person' type people.

I know I'm ranting but there's no place like here to do that. Good day!

It's almost like it was a dumb change and Kander gave a dumb reason for it. I was honestly 99% sure it was a bug when I first heard about it.

Those unfamiliar names are crafting riff raff. They've really poked the bear with this 'adventure pack'. Lol I amuse myself every time I type that.
I'm loving how the fan boys are being hushed as soon as they speak, they don't stand a chance. Or ... maybe I have most of them on ignore.

I share your suspicion that he was asked to write that.

Yeah, that's what's kinda different. Not just the new names, but the new names advising the bubble gnomes to zip it.

More like the "bubble gnomes of the good side" and "EQ2Wire/Feldon's crew" ("bubble gnomes of the dark side") joining forces against Benito.
