Test Copy

The game team has reconfigured the server, Test Copy, to not point to our system.  While there are certainly some characters still in the system from before, they will not be updated and we'll likely go in and clean them out manually.

Test is still exporting and is available as a normal server.

Did they give a reason why?  No biggie to me personally but I've got 4 users following characters on Test Copy at the moment.  I just want to know what to tell them when they ask why their character data isn't updating or has gone away completely.  Obviously the answer is "because the game team turned off the feed from Test Copy".  <img src="/station/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" />  But that will be followed up with "why did they turn off the feed from Test Copy"? 

I have some guesses but I'd rather go with the official answer rather than speculation.

The Test Copy server gives one lots of ways to tweak the character without really earning it - there was concern about having these characters skew the data from other servers.

Test Copy isn't a real world that people play on full time.  

 

Works for me.  That's what I'll tell them if they ask.
