While I'm still busy with the eq2 side of the data feed, we were told that the Planetside 2 feed would be live at game launch...  However there are no collections are listed:

Based on their design, I would imagine that the PS2 feed will go live, at the very latest, the day they launch the Planetside 2 Players site.

They're doing that site like they did the EQ2 Players site.  They stuff javascript into your browser and your browser pulls the data from the data feeds.  

But I guess it's possible that they'll require you to log in and do something with cookies or something else to prevent you from hitting the PS2 data without being logged in.  

Guess we'll see.

401 Unauthorized

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document you requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser does not understand how to supply the credentials required.

PlanetSide Universe got early access to the api to help them work out any kinks. Hamma (PSU Admin), says that the PS2 feed is current IP filtered so only their site and any other testers have access. You can see what they have here: http://www.planetside-universe.com/characters.php. Obviously this doesn't help the rest of us, but in the meantime, we at least have access to PS2 server status: census.daybreakgames.com/status/ps2.

We missing something here than?

 

It appears they are scraping our data from the PSU stat pages.

 

I chuckled when I read that about an Android app farming data from PSU. People go where the data is, and right now it's exclusive to one fansite.

If people are forward-thinking when building their sites, they can adapt to data format changes as we have had to multiple times on EQ2U. It's understandable that data formats will change, but just put a big warning/disclaimer and let the data be free. Next Thursday will be 1 month since PS2 launched.

Thanks! Though we have our plates pretty full with EQ2U, I'll be very interested to check out the PS2 data and see what interesting things can be done with it.

 

Are there any status updates available on the PS2 data feed?  This thread has been very quiet but there's still a huge ammount of anticipation for the new API.

 

Smed tweeted that it has been delayed. Again.
