Named mob kill data

I know eq2 tracks, per character, whether a named mob has been killed or not.. you get the star visible on their name when you haven't killed them before.  Any possibility of exporting this or at least the raid level named mob kill data?  Dates for each would be nice, but if that's not available then so be it.

We are kind of relying on the achievement export to do this.

What you are talking about is probably the AA gained (you have already received AA Exp for killing...) but I don't like the idea of using that because if you are at max AA we don't insert the mob into the list so you can get AA Exp for it later when we raise caps.

I do have a bit of code using the achievement data for raid progression, but not all named have achievements in the raids.. at least from what I could tell.  Let me go back through that data again and double check.

This is EXACTLY the behavior I want.  A list of named killed for which you have AA, and of course a list of named that gives AA.

The problem with using the AA info for that is that we dont record AA info when you are at Max AA.  It would suck to not have credit for a kill because you did the kill after you got max AA.

For my purposes, this is the behavior I want.  I want, when the AA cap is increased, to be able to provide a list of kills that you can run off and make, to get more AA.  :)

If you make the information returend clearly "killed for AA" then this is perfect.  If it's "killed the mob" well, that's a different beast.

I'll think about adding this, but it will be so misused I am hesitant.  The second I add it someone is going to use it to say "HAHA YOU NEVER KILLED TARINAX NOOB" to someone who did kill it but was maxed on AAs then that person is going to be upset.  You know this is true :)

So how hard would it be to change on the data end to record mobs which have been killed, but didn't grant AAs because the character was at max? ;) Zoltaroth hates me right now...

Well I have always wondered that as well. Why can't there simply be two flags? One for "Hey I got the AA for that" and one for "I killed it so in your face! :)" Problem solved right? (Oh I so love over simplification!) I would think you could populate the "I killed it" flag with the AA flag that exists now and just note that it will be more accurate going forward as people kill/rekill mobs.

Sadly, yes.  But I'll be very careful to say "obtained AA for" not "killed"  :)  Smart people I care about, the usual idiots, well...

Hrm, I wonder why I play this game sometimes :)

It's not difficult but its yet another thing to make characters larger / take longer to load etc.  It's something we will talk about internally and get back to you guys on.

Thanks Zoltaroth! I really think it would be a huge and well liked add if you could do it!

I'm for this (kill flag outside of aa-obtained flag) even if it was for raid bosses only.  It makes raid progression tracking much simpler.

And, to counter my own request, I know from personal experience in WoW that there will assist with elitism as one could easily tell if someone is new to raiding by looking at their character's kill flags.  Granted, the WoW variant also tracked counts of kills of each raid boss.  I'd be happy with just a kill flag and maybe timestamp, killCount would be the icing on the cake.

Honestly I don't see that being an issue. People are going to know if you are new or not in about 5 seconds of talking with you anyway. You can't really fake the knowledge and that is the way people are really going to know or not because people regularly these days switch toons/classes to fill different rolls or needs so awhile a toon may not have the kills the player behind the keyboard does.
