Yeah yeah give us an inch we'll ask for a mile :)

Could we get the zone(s)/mob(s) info added to the stuff in the items table? Drop rates would be nice too, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad :)

I hand-tagged almost all of the Heroic Velious drops today. Just Drunder still left to do.

ToFS x2 is done. Vu'ul x2 is still on my list. And then all the Velious raids.

That is a lot of work. I have log data all the way back to 2005, every toon every minute of play with most advanced logging features turned on. I guess I could parse this to get the DoV/Drunder raid items. That would get most of them with the exception of HM tormax, Statue and I guess about 60% of HM Drunder. Don't get in a rush to hand tag the raid zones I'll do what I can to parse that data this weekend and give it to you.

The problem lately with parsing log files is the way items now drop.  A lot of "items" don't actually drop from the right places anymore because they don't drop off mobs.  The "container" drops, then you open it and loot the "item".

Lets say you're in Temple of Rallos Zek and a chest piece drops off the last named.  You loot it on your tank.  Your log says you looted whatever the container is.  Then you go back to the guild hall, open the container, and claim the chest piece for your guardian.  Your log now says that you looted that chest piece in your guild hall. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Even worse when it is put in the shared bank and opened by an alt at a later point, true.

It isn't a perfect solution but far better than manually doing it, most items are opened immediately though, anything I get is for sure as I have the proper red, yellow and white adorns for anything that an upgrade is on the horizon for.

I admit though this didn't even cross my mind when I posted this.

I hand-mapped every Velious container/pattern <-> to the armor pieces to solve this problem. A few examples:

    <span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;">..<span style="color: #aaaaaa;"> <span style="color: #aaaaaa;"> ..<span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"><span style="color: #aaaaaa;"> ..<span style="color: #aaaaaa;"> <span style="color: #aaaaaa;"> ..<span style="color: #aaaaaa;">

And yes, I did consider mapping out each individual pattern/crate to each item, instead of having pattern "groups", but I realized this information is really not that necessary.

When I map items to mobs, I substitute the actual items in the container instead of the pattern. Searching for patterns or items on the site shows you the relationship between the items, the zone, and the named that dropped it.

    Lempo,

As for what crossed your mind, you were volunteering to send us logs. ;)

Log parsing is what eq2mission.flame.org started doing, mostly.

It turns out the log message where someone looted an item out of a chest often contains the name of the chest as well.  It's not trivial, but it works.  I actually parse out the items, but don't currently do anything with them.

I meant the fact that people often opened the patterns at a later time, my DoV logs are over 18 Gig not very efficient to send all that lol.

I can parse it out though and extract lines with the loot, the chests and the zones as they are entered and send them though, I'll get my grep gear on this weekend and try to get that done for ya.

<span style="font-size: 11px;">I currently have about 6.9 GB of compressed, gzip'd log files from various players.  This is sanitized input -- no tells, no guild chat, no chat of any kind (I hope.)

    Nice!

I know you're just posting an example, but I have no plans to tag Masters, Adepts, Relics/Scrying Stones, Recipe Books, Quest items, or any vendor trash with mob or zone information. These items drop pretty much anywhere from any mob of the appropriate level. I know there are a few exceptions like certain mobs or zones only dropping level 80 Masters (isn't Shard of Hate like this?)This is not to say I won't add descriptive information about these items, but I won't be wiring up every level 80-89 master spell to every mob in the entire game that drops Exquisite chests. That would just be clutter.

    Are you sure?

I was going to make sure and leave the Duhjalm Sentinnel activators that drop off every trashmob every time in KF so we would all know where to get one of those. <img src="/station/images/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" />

I guess it would be save to exclude those? lol
