I've had a report from a user that one of his characters can't be found on the new data feeds.  I've checked with the details he gave me and can't find his character at all.

    Character name: D<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.917969); color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; "><span style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: #222222; font-size: x-small;">arquestaemServer: Freeport

He's not the only person who has reported characters missing, just the only one who's sent me any details.

Has he logged recently on that character?  The feed won't display characters that haven't logged since around November.  Also make sure he didn't set his character to be private (I believe it's a checkbox on the last page of the Persona window in-game).

Those characters should still appear on the guild collection however, so see if they appear when you poll for its guild collection item.

I had already checked whether the character has been logged in and it has.  I'll try to find out about the privacy setting though, thanks.

The privacy setting is where I would start.  The character would also be missing if there were errors in the update process that prevent it from getting into the database.

He checked when he logged into game today and it was caused by the privacy setting.  Thanks very much for the help.

Well at least we know that feature works! :)

It works the other way as well.  I had one person report they were hidden, and after they checked the box and hit "send an update" it was visible inside the API within about 2 minutes.  It may have been sooner but I did not check until then, as I had to run off and add the "update a character that you don't know about yet" feature in my interface.

2 minutes is about right.  We still have some throttling going on for the update side of things.  It will be gone soon.
