Guidance on copyrighted material (SOE logos, ingame images etc)

    Hi Devs,

    I'm hoping to get some guidance on the legal aspects of using SOE logos and ingame images. From doing a little googling it looks like I may need (at the very least) written permission. Does anyone have any information about this? Is there a SOE biz dev rep I should be contacting?

    Because of the way the Census EULA is written, you must get written permission from SOE to use SOE logos, trademarks, etc.

    Fan site rules allow in-game screenshots, etc. to be used. And by its very nature, Census publishes icons and other in-game graphics. So really what you're restricted from using is game and expansion logos.

    Your first point of contact is to e-mail [url="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected][/url]. If that doesn't work, then perhaps contact the CM of your specific game.
