Coming Soon: New Hardware

    Our new database cluster is racked and getting ready for testing.  We are still waiting on more RAM, so I don't have a solid ETA yet.  The current installation has been holding up very nicely, but I wanted to get even more headroom as we look to begin supporting new games and features.

    With this change, we are expanding from 2 to 6 hosts.  We will have 3x the amount of RAM *and* sharding the data across two sets of servers - effectively a 6x increase in the space available for the data (we want everything to be in RAM instead of spinning disks).

    Our web service utilizes all of the hosts to fulfill requests, so this will increase the number of simultaneous connections by 3x as well (although this has never been a problem).

    We have done a number of migration tests in our internal environment.  The switchover to the new hardware will be seamless and done without any downtime.  I will let update this thread as we go through that transition so that you can hold me to that.

    Nope Lantis I am with you on that one!

    We actually at work just got a new VM System with over 100TB of Space and we just powered it up today Was OH So fun and cool
