Apparently she 'moved' the information to zone write ups.. that aren't linked in the quests at all...

The information is restored on the quest write up for now. I requested that is she changed it again she provide a link, IN the quest write-up, to the zone write-up.

Her reasoning wasn't bad.. but the way it was implimented was.

I have this image of Mermut staring at her computer, then at her "big gulp" sized cup of coffee, and then emptying an entire bottle of bourbon into it.

This beta has not been good for her.

I don't drink coffee.. nasty stuff. Tea drinker here :p
But, yes, the hard cider has been looking waaaaaaay too tasty recently ;)

On a more serious note.. being able to vent and laugh here has helped loads.

Look, I'm not using profanity or calling anyone (SigDerp) bad names. I want to, but I'm not going to.

I will say it again: Those people are lucky you don't have my temperament and volume. I'd have lit that <edited for content> up. All the good reasoning in the world doesn't matter if the end result is a huge steaming pile of <edited for content>.

Get it out of your system here, so you can be as constructive as possible elsewhere. :D

I wonder how important Siggy thinks they are in the grand scheme of wiki things? Are they? They clearly think that they're quite important on the forums, but this is something that's been ramping up over time. I've noticed in the last few months Siggy has made increasing references to the wiki and their activity there in different threads. Maybe someone should stomp on their over sized ego before they go any further down the path of acting like they own the place.

    Siggy can go **** herself.

Honestly, I used to like the EQ2 community. I miss the old days.

Some people in this world (Siggy) just need that kind of feeling needed, or feel they need to control something, even though no one really needs what they provide, usually it comes from someone who has very little control of their situation in real life.

Whatever it is, its really something to feel sorry for that person about. Today I started to reply to one of their posts on the OF and stopped in the middle and realized, it would not make a bit of difference and I really don't give two <edited for content> about the game anymore, so what the use, and I will not be reading the OF anymore.

Remember when she had a voluptuous barbarian figure as a signature picture with her 2%'s practically hanging out? Then she started reporting people for putting scantily clad women in their own sigs? She finally had to remove hers. She thinks she is above the rest of us. Junior staff if you will.

She thinks she's as important as she believes the DBG bug tracker to be.

I wonder if I commented on a termite problem if she would suggest using the Bug Tracker...

It's likely she eventually figured out that the Dev's give zero craps about her issue tracker.

It's all about the wiki now. She claims to be a technical writer, which helps explain her cook book approach to answering questions.

What she fails to grasp, however, is that both form AND ***honest/knowledgable SUBSTANCE*** are also required to make an answer helpful.

Edit: Upon reflection, I should have identified "candor" as a more precise element of the substance component. It's my belief that she is mindfully steering people toward her goals, at the expense of honesty, even with herself.

Some absolute <colorful noun of your choice> is busy telling healers that we should be content with the ****-show that is the current (admittedly broken) healing debuff in heroic zones that hard caps our heals. Some healers have reported they can heal 'well enough' right now.. so what's our problem?
Why should we care that nothing we do and no gear we get will have ANY effect, at all, on our healing... it's not like it matters if we can keep the group alive, right? His SK might get to use some of his death saves now! That's totally AWESOME!!!

I do NOT understand why SOOOO many people (too many devs too it seems) are under the impression that healers are either drooling idiots content to mindlessly push the same 4 buttons no matter how much or little healing is needed, total pacifists who are 'religiously' opposed to do any dps at all, or total masochists who will torture themselves to whatever extent is necessary so other people can have a good time.. :S

*Snort* And yet we were, explicitly, told that there were no 'fundamental changes' being made to healing mechanics in this expac.... THAT is a huge, steaming pile of equine excrement.

Well, to be fair, you just described me when healing.

I'm sure you're your SK friend is perfectly content to merely spam taunts and is unconcerned with his own dps.

Clearly, Gninja and whomever else have not considered that healer skill involves much more than merely keeping the group up.

I put the guy on ignore... getting too hard not to be painfully blunt with him.

Got my equilibrium back.... dude was going off on shaman and how they'll have to stop relying on their wards and start 'casting other heals' like everybody else...

Using humor to point out just how much of an idiot somebody is being is fun :D

So she is an expert in debugging (aesthetics)...
    An expert in technical writing...
An expert in game design and mechanics...
    An expert in technical advice...

Damn... I should hire this woman!

    Not.

Hell, I hate introducing politics into games, but she sounds like Trump.

She is just some lonely creature who absolutely needs to have others praise her. I finally saw some of her posts when I looked at the OF without logging in (she's ignored on the account I have that has not yet been banned).

When you are looking at a post on the official forums (or anywhere) and your blood is boiling, it's hard to step back and think logically. Whether the person is trolling, obtuse, intentionally antagonizing, or other motivation, the result of taking the bait is the same. I failed many times to keep myself in check, so I'm not offering advice I shouldn't myself follow!

I'm a mentally disabled college drop-out who was stupid enough to knock up a stripper in my 20s and is still paying for that mistake at nearly 50. I have a ton of work experience, but no real success. I've written for and ran a lot of RPG stuff over the years, but the closest I've ever come to getting an education in the field, or even legitimately published, is knowing other people who have. After well over 3 decades of gaming and about 2 of playing MMOs, every time a certain someone opens their mouth about game design and development I have to strongly resist the urge to rant and/or mock.

It's been a hard lesson, but sometimes the best thing to do is simply to not.

Probably TMI about me, but sharing is caring :D
