What happened to intellectual honesty?

Have you not personally advocated for action to be taken against "conspiracy theorists" who dare talk about player power being sold on the Marketplace? Pushing for bans and then encouraging people to post? So...

If members from here would "just post on the official forums", they'd "get a fair shake" or an audience with the developers. You say this knowing full well that the opinions expressed here would have (or have already) warranted bans. It's so obvious that what you really want is for us all to go on the official forums, call people / the game out, and get banned.

If only you could just convince us dullards to take that bait, then you would have successfully vanquished the OF of all the negativity and nastiness which sullies the otherwise perfect EverQuest II.

Talking about what is happening on the official forums, particularly white knighting (being dishonest about the health and gameplay opportunities of the game) is going to continue to be discussed here. Your "capitalism is awesome -- you can charge literally whatever you want" posts got the attention of some of our posters who candidly expressed their opinion about them. These forums are used by people who don't necessarily have access to the official Discord or forums, so some posted their opinions of your alarming posts here. It would be one thing if you said "I have no problem with them charging what they want". You tried to stifle discussion.

We are here to talk about EQ2 and what's happening in the EQ2 community. That will sometimes entail referencing posts on the official forums. That's not nasty. That's just the reality of a company and a development team that doesn't want to hear anything but glowing praise.

Castegyre summed it up: We don't hide anything here. Anyone is allowed to read the posts and reply. Their choice not to participate is not our problem.

 

There's a word for it -- firehose of falsehood. It has been particularly effective for Russia, China, North Korea, and even a president or two. Repeating the same obvious lie so often that citizens believe it.

While bubble gnome is not the nicest term, the "bubble" part is applicable. Denying reality and the experience of others to protect ones own opinion. Normally, "gnome" is a diminutive, suggesting small and easily ignored. However gnomes are a prominent race in EQ2 with no negative connotation given. They have a significant role in the Steamfont Mountains, some of the Faydwer raids, and in the Shadow Odyssey overworld zone.

 

I've had to take more moderator action in the last 2 hours than in the entire 3 year history of this forum.
