Doublecast - spell vs ability

Okay, great hivemind...what is the difference between these two? There are many opinions, but not a lot of strong consensus.

One common reply I've been getting is that "spell doublecast" is explicitly for the things in your Knowledge book under the "Spells" tab, while "ability doublecast" also applies to combat arts and ascension abilities (hence why it is more rare on gear and you can't reforge into it).

What have you heard? Have you seen any official definitions for the two?

Spell doublecast is just for spells. Ability doublecast is for EVERYTHING.... except for heals... neither work on heals.
Yes, this means that spells can, theoretically, triple cast.

Cool, that matches what I've been telling myself in my head (hadn't considered the heal thing, thanks for that)...much appreciated!
