Updating EQ2U for Renewal of Ro

EQ2U updated to support new Plumes/Textures/Event Slot/Feather Boa equipment slot.
Updated item icons.
Added ability to search for Plumes/Event items.

Added 36 spells (mostly level 120) which were missing from EQ2U, as well as several missing tiers of the Illusionist spell "Savante"

I also added "spell replacement" info for nearly 80 spells.

It's still very possible that some spells are missing. Unfortunately I can't just pull all the spells in from Census as hundreds of NPC and mercenary spells are returned by Census spell searches and they look the same as player spells.

Hopefully spells are back into a decent state on EQ2U and nothing is missing. I am relying on YOU to report bugs and missing spells from EQ2U!

Loaded Recipes.

 

After much trepidation -- and more than a few Gateway Timeouts -- Quest Data on EQ2U has finally been updated from the source for the first time in 5 years.

• Crawled / Hand-Entered Quest Data contributed by players and myself over the last 5 years has been deleted. This was nearly 600 quests in over 30 categories.
• A complete rescan of all official Census Quest Data has been performed.
• Quests from Chaos Descending, Blood of Luclin, Reign of Shadows, Visions of Vetrovia, and Renewal of Ro have been properly loaded and the number of quests on the site has gone from 12,868 to 14,248.
• Quest Details now use internal icons.

With this rescan, there are likely many test quests which were never intended to be public. I am excluding these as I find them but I will be reliant upon EQ2 players to point out quests which are either test quests or quests which are no longer available.

If you see any bizarre behavior with Quests, Quest Categories, Quest Zones, etc. please let me know!

 

• Quest Lists now have a placeholder image in the Quest Details area.
• Clicking a Quest now displays a Loading message in the Quest Details area.

 

The delay when clicking on a Quest in any of the Quest Lists and the Quest Details actually appearing was varying between 3/4 second and sometimes 10 or more seconds. I have found the biggest cause and fixed it!!

I have pruned Active and Completed Quest data from EQ2U prior to 6 months ago. This reduced the amount of data from over 6 million rows to just over 1 million rows. The performance benefits have been immediately noticeable.

Tech: I profiled all the parts of the Quest Details ajax load to see what was taking so long and found a problem. The AutoQuest "Examining this item offers the quest X" feature was a doing a full Census query for every quest. I have now rewritten the Qiest Details function so this data is stored on EQ2U.

More Tech: I need to rewrite another part of the Quest Details function to correctly cache data using the "stale" functionality of other EQ2U pages. Until this happens, the page won't be as fast as it could be.

 

Ran some maintenance scripts.

21,747 items are known to be rewards from and properly backlink to their Collection or Quest.

25,380 items are known to be rewards from and properly backlink to their Collection or Quest.

 

Updated Tradeskill Report for Reign of Shadows, Mischief and Mayhem, Blood of Luclin, Visions of Vetrovia, Renewal of Ro.

 

Re-reviewed all 7,931 Spells/CAs again and added outlevel info to ~7 spells and added ~7 missing spells.

 

Improved Ascension XP tooltip to explain why EQ2U calculates it differently.

 

Updated Collections.

 

Clicking the icon for an Achievement now displays a popup with the in-game link for that Achievement.

 

Performed database changes and optimization to hopefully reduce timeouts.

 

With a massive thanks to Tune, we are now starting to add Vendor information for some items. It displays like this:



The Item Details page displays an increasing amount of useful information about each item:

• This item is a Quest Reward
• This item, when examined, offers a Quest
• This item is a Collection Reward
• This item can be crafted from a Recipe
• This item drops from an enemy according to the ACTLoot data from Dragon's Armory
• This item can be purchased from the Marketplace -- NEW
• This item can be purchased from a Vendor -- NEW -- data being added as we speak

 

Rescanned Quests and Collections to connect them to items they Reward. This added about 2,000 "rewardfrom" item links.
