The overwhelming majority of American voters are somewhere just left or just right of center.

The only reasons Trump won the first time were Clinton's arrogance about Democrat votes in the mid-west and the fact that tons of people really can't stand her. If she had actually campaigned in Wisconsin and Michigan, she might have overcome the "anybody but her" vote. She didn't.

A Sanders campaign might have actually scared enough Trump haters to vote for him anyway, just to make sure Sanders didn't get in.

I know I get reductionist but this is a little much.

Those of us who live outside the USA have just heaved a collective sigh of relief! Sure, Biden and Harris may have their own internal issues, but we don't see those. I for one am INCREDIBLY happy that there will not be a further 4 years of a narcissistic, fascist, racist, incompetent and unintelligent leader who is quite capable of starting worldwide chaos just because he can or because it would benefit him personally, being in control of the nuclear codes!

The world had a collective sigh relief? Not at all, "Error's elected Government" needed Trump to win, after all, that was the only (Hard) Brexit Plan they ever had. It is not a coincidence that the British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab congratulated Trump on his Victory last Wednesday, 10 hours after Trump declared so.
People tend to forget that we in Europe have to put up with the "mini-version" of Trump - Boris Johnson.

Besides that Rhodris is right, there is collective relief in the EU and elsewhere in the world.

UK is ****ed either way since Brexit. I have more hope with Biden than I do with Trump honestly.

Trump was never going to give a good deal to the UK, despite what he may have falsely promised.

According to the OF the, "SOCIALISTS WON THE ELECTION THROUGH THE MAILBOX!!1!1"

I'm almost positive that poster also mentioned they were on a fixed income, maybe disability, in earlier posts.

Wish there'd been a socialist on the ballot. I'd have voted for him 3 times.

Well, the problem for the right wing faschists is that they call everyone Socialists and Lefties. Not realizing you have Social Democrats, Green Party Member, Socialists, and the far left - Ultra Communists /Marxists - on the left.

Given how far right they are, there are also moderate conservatives 'on the left' :p

So after 9 months, we get $600. $600 we'll have to pay TAXES on in 2021.

Our leaders told us to stay home, close businesses, and stop the spread, and then unlike every other civilized country on Earth, they didn't give us our taxes back so we could actually do that. So now we're about to have 14 million new homeless people.

The $600 is "we've altered the deal. Pray we don't alter it further." It's a veiled threat from the wealthy donor class to the American public that you're on your own and if you challenge us we'll bankrupt and imprison you. Income inequality in the USA is now higher than it was at the time of the French Revolution.

People are 6 months behind on rent and mortgages. Eviction moratoriums just delay the inevitable. We told everyone to stay home. We shut down the entertainment, hospitality, travel, and service industries and then gave them no lifeline to stay home. Not everyone can work at McDonald's or design websites.

New Zealand paid everyone $600 per week to stay home. Canada paid $1500+ a month. We got $1800 for an entire year. Think of the bank bailout Biden is going to have to do in 2021 when the housing market collapses again. It's going to make $1200 a month look like girl scout cookies. Just like in 2008, we're going to see another 5 million Americans lose their homes and millions more lose any savings or wealth they had saved up, especially in black communities that already have a poor relationship with the banks.

By not pushing for substantive policy, Democrats lost House seats and did not pickup Senate seats. Every campaign ad for Jaime Harrison was "Lindsay is out of touch" rather than "We asked you to stay home and close businesses but didn't give the means to do that. That's unfair."

Why didn't every Democrat running this year including @harrisonjaime campaign on $1200 a month stimulus? It's because @SpeakerPelosi doesn't want it either, right? Because she's a Republican Lite and deficit hawk about this (but not the military or $2T tax cuts). But hey she got her ice cream.

So all this fooling around and not actually shutting down in the US and UK and Sweden? Now Covid-20 is here. It's a mutation of Covid-19 due to it being allowed to spread unchecked. It's different enough from Covid-19 that we don't know if the Covid-19 vaccines or any herd immunity built up so far will work against it.

Each member of congress made almost $100,000 during the time they were arguing whether or not we deserved $600.

So 6 Republican Senators became all of a sudden deficit Hawks. What is worse that your President is only concerned about staying in power at any costs. There wasn't a single address to the nation as a President would do. Joe Biden is doing that.

So my questions is what is going to happen on January 6th. Is he really trying the Congress and the Senate and in the end the Republican party ?
Or is he stirring up violence in the streets to be able to call out martial law ?

If you were wondering where the $600 figure came from.

I found it funny that the covid relief package was over 5,000 pages long.
You know what that means? They tacked a whole lotta un-reviewed bills in there and said "It has the covid bill in it...say yes to that and ALL the other crap we put in or you will lose voters."
5,000 pages to review in like 1-2 days 2 hours, crazy.
