I'm not convinced it's all an actual directive they've been given yet. I think it's more of a knee-jerk reaction to look less like assholes because there's a new boss. The old boss was accustomed to how asshole they were, the new one maybe not so much, so they have to make it look good until she acclimates.

I got a new boss mid-last year too. Others on the team were suddenly far more willing to put some effort into their work. 6-8 months later things are sliding back to where they were before because none of it was actually directed to happen. It wouldn't surprise me to see some degree of that going on here as well.

I'll take a wait-and-see card, like Feldon said they have 5+ years of open hostility to undo. But I pinky swear I'll download the game again and take a look if they escort Kander out of the office on a Friday afternoon and don't hush up that it happened. That might be a tangible move in a positive direction -- the podcast is just hot air.

I don't think they ever can do anything that will convince me to install EQ2 again, or any other game coming from any of their companies.

The impression I got from the farewell post is that JChan has been working closely with Longdale for some time, so she should already know who the assholes are.

I am 99.99999999999999999% confident that Longdale and Kander were 100% colluding when it came to everything eq2.

Well, a polished turd is both still a turd, and polished i guess? just depends on how one looks at it, and I think its fairly evident that since he most likely doesn't play the game he works on, his viewpoint is rather skewed to say the least.
though, whatever he IS smoking, I sure wish he would share!!!!

To polish a turd, it has to be rock-hard frozen. And now it's thawed into a steaming pile.... with melted polish in the cracks. So it's an even bigger shitstorm. Might as well just throw it all in a blender, and give Kander a Turd-arita as thanks for all his hard "work."

    I just read podcast #2.

You are all wrong. They love player focus groups.

Sounds like someones been telling Dreamweaver that the Community Round Table focus group is a great source of feedback... total rubbish.

The Raid Council used to be pretty valuable, but Gninja was running that so it actually got reviewed/commented on frequently.

As like everything else lately, it just seems to be all talk and no action.

As many feared..hot air and "Bla Bla Bla" in Episode 3

Casuals - Kander doesn't understand why casual believe/think there is not much content for them. "Spaghetti Western Zones" will have Solo /Casual Friendly versions

Crafting - Kander admits that there wasn't any designated person for crafting left after Domino left.. The outcome nobody cares /looks into crafting as they all have many jobs.
Kander wants the Community Round Table to be a source of "Brainstorming" on how to improve Crafting

Auto Attack - Auto Attack will change but more likely only Class based with the AA Revamp.

I found the first two episodes more informative.

    I gotcher plan right here:
    1. Fire Kander
    2. Establish office in Canuckistan
    3. Offer Domino the position of Total Despot over EQ2
    4. All bow to our beloved Crafty Divine Empress who rules from the Great Cold North
    5. Crafting Golden Age!

    Seems Kander also wants to do 2 things;

    1) Expect the CRT to read his mind on this, rather than saying "Hey Guys, we know crafting is lacking, do you have any ideas?".
    2) Ignore the fact it likely already happened to a degree and with 0 feedback, so nobody else bothered to take it any further.

I'm sorry, anybody with 1/2 a brain that doesn't know that a HUGE problem with crafting right is that ALL the wearable gear is absolute garbage is LYING... add to not being able to break crafted gear down into infuser bits OR transmuting bits...

The funny thing is that someone at DPG uploaded Episode 3 on Spotify without informing Dreamweaver, the communications manager. He was surprised on Discord Chat when player approached him about episode 3.

'Lots of bugs reports about crafting levels being wrong and it was wrong in most cases'
    1) Uhm.. I doubt there were more bug reports about crafting levels 'being wrong' than other problems with crafting
    2) Claiming they were 'wrong in most cases' is pure BS. The only ones that might legitimately called 'wrong' were the ones that had 2 sets of mats for a single '10' of levels. Those are not even close to 'most' tiers.

ugh.. the level of disingenuity about crafting and 'casual' is staggering.
For the 'casual' side.. it's especially bad when Kander mentioned before they 'only' had quests after just last podcast saying 'yeah, we've been doing fewer and fewer quests because they're haaaard'

In my opinion, the current podcasts simply reaffirm that players can expect more of the same on all fronts and none of that is good.

There is a lot of spin and the same tone deafness that has been prevalent for quite some time. I applaud the effort, but I think it is going to do more harm than good in the end.

With every thing that has happened over the last several expansions, particularly with BOL, I can't imagine that there are many players left with the wool pulled over their eyes.

I almost posted this exact same observation on the OF.

"Sorry about the crafting we're just soooooo busy...."

    (1) Had time to implement crafted gear that is 100% useless.
    (2) Crafting books locked behind a ridiculous rng wall.

That right there told me Kander is still lying.
