First offense, get logged off and can't log back in for 24 hours.
    Second offense, a week.
    Third offense, permaban.
If you're going to get draconian, don't take half-measures.

sounds good. About as reasonable as they are planning on treating PvE'ers so far.

I don't think I've ever played, seen, or heard of a game that tried to implement a system to regulate open PvP in a PvE environment that actually worked. There's always a way to game the system, and there's always those players who just don't care about the penalties. Put PvE players in a situation where PvP players have access to them and there will be a lot of PvE corpses whether they wanted to participate or not.

Its why they rely on some sort of 'bait and switch' that keeps the PvP away from new/lower level players. This under the guise of 'easing them in' or some such when really they are trying to get them to stick around for a month or two at release before they realize they won't be able to play the way they want later in the game. I know because I got tricked more than a few times by it. PvPvE and its variations mean 'getting pk'd while pve'ing'

Tekka played SWG a lot more then I did. I've listened to a lot of different tales and more than one rant about people getting flagged for things like being watched while they were dancing.

It was freaking epic at launch. If a flagged player watched an entertainer (which the entertainer had no control over) it would flag the entertainer. For a little while there, cantinas were warzones. Then it moved to Bestine and the various 'hidden' bases, at least on Ahazi, when I played.

I played around with Image Designer but settled on Dancer to pair with Unarmed specialist. At the cantina I hung out at on Tatooine we had a Bounty Hunter regular that defended the entertainers from griefers and creepers.

Medics also had to be careful, if they tossed the heal grenade (sorry, I don't remember the names of their stuff) on a flagged player, it would flag them as well.

As Raph's post points out there were a few edge case issues which were ultimately dealt with. I played both pre and post NGE SWG and really liked the TEF system. My second account was an Imperial Combat Medic/TKA :)

It also points out its more or less what WoW does but further aided by starting areas for opposing factions being very far apart instead of the same ones. In keeping with the comparison AoC seems to want to use something similar WoW PvP server rules but for the whole game. Booooooooooooooooooo

Totally agree! This is exactly why I'm still playing LOTRO. There have been cool looking games that have come out but they've all had one of two issues that are deal breakers for me. PvP that can't be avoided if you want access to the entire "world" or awkward (to me) camera/movement/etc.

She was at SOE for quite a while (left some time before it became DBG), though not on EQ2 for very long. IIRC she was at Cursed / NC Soft after that. She's super awesome, that's a great pick up for Intrepid and I'm sure she's glad to be back in SD too. :p

They may be rats leaving a sinking ship, but just means they are smart enough to recognize that its going down and get out while they can. Do you want on your resume "Was the last one to leave the DBG office and I turned out the lights when I left!"
