How to Start

Speak to The Forgotten in the back room after finishing The Reward for Loyalty

Which is preceded by TWO quest starting with Culling The Disloyal to get to back room to talk to The Forgotten

You must have completed or accept Serris' quest The Enemy in Our Midst in order for Lerenth to offer this quest

To Start the Quest

1. Click Chest near Kurns Tower in Fens (it wanders)

2. Sorcerer's Stone Stonebrunt Highlands

5. Right Click the scroll, it will allow you to combine to a key

6. The Chest now paths between the Bell Zone in and Riliss in Fens (It has moved), you go open the chest and examine the item you receive to begin the quest.

 

Quest 1 Pre Reqs-
1. For Step 12, you must do the Othmir questline in Great Divide, so Osh replaces Nipik in his hut, and then the Cobalt Scar Othmir quests.

2. For Step 13, Pre Req 3, You will need to complete the Thalumbra Questline until Aleesia (-320,242,302-Thalumbra) will speak to you.

3. For Step 13, You need to have 50k Faction with the Zou'Lidela in Thalumbra. Aleesia is the quest giver.

4. For Step 13, You need to have 50k Faction with Bastion of the Tranquil in Sentinels Fate. (Which requires doing part of that quest line)

Quest 1-

1. Gorowyn Loc ~ (2529,119,1284)- Seems to spawn randomly around the area, its a large stone you must click

2. After clicking the stone speak to all 3 apprentices, and then the Wizard which will give you a coin.

3. Go to The Down Below Loc (-144,0,-74) and click the statue.
- If presented Multiple Options choose the last.

4. Speak to all the NPCs until the bartender gets a quest update above his head and then speak to the bartender.


5. The Cube can be located in Fabled Deathtoll by Fitzpitzal
(Around Loc -589,119,-245) and looks like a white dice

6. Return to the bar and speak to the bartender.

7. Speak to the Opposite Black Market Broker of your own city.
(Evil>Qeynos, Good>Freeport).
Freeport is located in the middle of the harbor
Qeynos is in the Harbor district underground
There is a red featherbook above their head that can be seen on mini map.

8. Speak with Vasith One Eye in Kralet Penumbra (Contested)
Loc (-1,0,10)
It is right near zone in no name kill required

9.Kill Mo'Ithraf in Kralet Penumbra [Contested] and loot from his body Aberrant Cipher (Not guaranteed drop, 1 per kill max, not group update.).
Until patch in new year, this is only way to get the update. Intended for mob to be in an instance. (71.32, -2.87, 230.88).

10. In same room as step 9, there is a clicky on top of the brazier after you loot the cipher. Clicking this will provide you with the Sigil.

14. Once you collect all 3 items, return to Osh (Othmir) in the Great Divide. He will combine them into the item you need for Vastith.

15. Return to Vastith, who can now be found behind the tinkered portal in Thalumbra (near Maldura's outer wall). Talking to her completes the quest.

> She does not know who her "employers" were but she rewards you with a fabled charm called "{your name's} Jewel Of The Three." Once you equip it, click to 'use' the charm and it will summon an npc's projection who gives you the 2nd quest called "Broadening One's Arcane Horizons."

2nd Quest: "Broadening One's Arcane Horizons"

Step #1: Retrieve the walking chest that you encountered before. This time you will find the chest wandering around the top part of Moors of Ykesha. It appears to path between the Anchor of Bazuul and the lower part of Ykesha's Spine. Once you retrieve the chest, you are told to find the 'city of highmen.'

Step #2: Go to the city of Paineel in Sundered Frontier. There you find Bellengere the Three. Speak to him and he opens a portal. Zone into it. It is instead a portal to the void. Zone back out and speak to Bellengere again.

Step #3: Speak to the npc once more and you then determine he is also sick. You must locate a 'study of Akashic Neverthere.'

So getting lots of questions on this. Each epic is 6 quests. 5 heroic. 1 mythical. Each archtypal quest should only require 2 factions for the entirety. For mages. I removed the timer from the faction quest that had the 18 hour timer and now you will be able to get the Sigil in an instance and the contested.

As a clarification, you only need to do quests in CS up to "Salty Breeze". Nika's quest "A Solemn Request" is not necessary.

 

Another clarification, the Band of Illumine Umbrite is purchased from Tillwanee (the location is correct) /way -426.33, 258.44, 395.05

Ok mages heres what I found today after looking for 10 hours
I started by going back and doing the Shield of the Magi quest the new item they stuck on the shady swashbuckler

1. Do that quest if you haven't youll need it
2. after you have the shield of magi return to the antonica tombstone at the tower and speak again with the ghost (loc is -2036, 7, 219)
3. the Ghost will tell you if you can find his scroll chest it contains the akashic neverthere
4. the ghosts scroll chest in next to Fethinal in greater feydark you will know where he is if you have done the shield of magi quest

Remainder of the quest was something along the lines of:
- Get your class specific update

• Coercer update: shiny-like thingy, Jarsath, /way -930.81, 263.56, 722.62
• Wizard update. New Tunaria Library. Right next to Cerennhir Aelinde -409, 49, -980
• Necro update at -1333,-68,333. Turmoil Cemetery in the Commonlands
• Illy update is the mask on the wall behind the Bartender in Terens Grasp: /way 2200, 525, -980
• Conjuror update: /way 1833, 483, -808 in Kylong Plains
• Warlock update: At a makeshift shrine (-1689, -401, 1100) in Fens of Nathsar, east of Sathir's Span

- Talk to Bellengere and he has you pick up a stack of spells he's prepared from the desk by him
- Use the one to teleport into his study, then the one to get "magic sight" (forget the name of the scroll), click the blackscale rune cube in the back of the room, then use the scroll to return back to him.
- talk to Bellengere again - believe this was the final update for the quest that gave you the Akashic Waystone neck.

Quest 3:
- Get quest from Bellengere
- Speak with Assistant Shortspanner in Tranquil Sea, at his position near the Quarry (loc needed; he's currently depop'd by Dev action due to a bug it sounds like?)
- Go to Phantom Sea -> Ssraeszha Temple Heroic.
- Go into room with 2nd-to-last named (snake man that does mana drain) and find Aillena Belzia, who is trapped.
- After getting the update for finding Aillena, kill the zone through the 2nd-to-last named to free Aillena
- Need 3 items: Fragile umbrite crystals (from last named in Stygian heroic), a diacoustic aquatic shield that amplifies sound waves (from last name in Algorithm for Destruction), and an item that can cause the umbrite crystals to explode "via multi-layered high frequency sound waves" (location needed)

For the last item (item that can cause the umbrite crystals to explode):
Click on the djinn bottle in Shimmering Citadel at -273, 185, -68 or so, with Uruvanian (Words of Air, from djinn body drops) language known.

Once you do this dialogue, it sounds like the update can be found in Tipple's Focus (Credit to Nizard for finding it in Tipple's). Tipple's Focus / Shimmering Citadel: An Empty Bottle seems to spawn in a number of locations, and it isn't always up.

Lamp is on a 25 minute timer and will port each group member into their own instance, so in essence a group update. (Courtesy of Labelleth)

Zone-in locs:

• Sitting on top of a large rock in the Sinking Sands, near where the Samiel Outfitters spawn at -1834, -212, 621 .
• On a small rock island at -2108, -232, 385 .
• On top of a rock just to the west of the climbable point to the top of the cliffs at -1346.49, -229.06, -1206.5 .
• ( -836, -230, -1375 ) at The Bay of Anuk almost wedged between the two rocks at coord.
• /way -946, -230, -1432

After you zone in and find the harp (in the last room/around the corner), you go back to Bellengere and try to blow up the cube - and fail. Then you are told to go find the creator of the cube, a dragon from the western wastes.

This turns out to be Harla Dar, who you can find in Vesspyr on the south-middle island! In order to talk to her, you need to have completed "Family Ties" quest

After this, you are looking for a way to get Karkona's attention:

• "Karkona's Scale" can be found as a purple shiny-like thing at /way -55.42, 53.08, 794.17 in Vesspyr.
• "a cracked spirital anchor" can be found in Vesspyr at /way -809,-46,49

Next update is at /way 209, 126, 792 in Vesspyr. You'll see a red-glowing clickable version of the spirit anchor on the ground. Click it once to place the spirit anchor, and again to summon Lady Karkona. Talk with her, and after her dialogue finishes attempt to talk to her again.

• You are required to have the Glowing Black Stone from A Strange Black Rock HQ in your bags for this additional attempt to talk to her. She will jump into the Glowing Black Stone.
• For Strange Black Rock, it's best to group up with other mages trying to do this same HQ as there are contested kills + the questgiver depops for 20 minutes after someone does the last step.

After talking with Karkona and sucking her into the Glowing Black Stone, head back to Belengere the Three.

Arcane Object of Draconic Blood:
Kill Sy'Vok the Scrollkeepe in Chardok (group mob, / way 849, -30, 221)

• This is not yet the update for the quest, but after the kill you see two more scrolls in the upper two rooms (/ way 875, -22, 153 and the room opposite), a total of 4 scrolls

Next, zone into Secret room in Chardok (Haunt of the Lair) / way -36, -58, 100

• [Update 2017-01-24] The zone will allow bringing in a group, and the below charm tactic will no longer function.
• Zone can only be done by itself (no group, no Merc)
• You have to kill a triple-up heroic mob (Tombwatch L'Drykk)
• Possible tactics:
  • Coercer: in the char options switch off Autoattack, go to the Named, take all Adds, charm the named, send the named after the adds, named will die
  • Others classes: Same as coercer, but use the city merchant signet "Charm of Undead Allure".
  • Otherwise: Max HP Gear, Dragon Tree 2nd line skills (Ward / death prevent), Heal-Potions ... and try to not die ...

Once it is killed, then click "Dragon Blood Shard" on the crates to the left of the Named position. This will update the "Arcane object of Draconic Blood" requirement.

Arcane object of Draconic Destruction >> "Wand of the Wyrmslayer" is located in the Sarcophagus in Barons's Workshop, in the second Crypt (where you also get the Crypt Key). /way -145, 31, 26

Arcane object of Draconic Breath: Reaver's Remnants solo, in back hidden room. Also possible to get in Reaver's Remnants heroic in the back hidden room. The update clicky was described in Discord as "a big vase". /way 9.39, -5.15, -1,203.96

Once you've collected these 3 items, head back to Karkona's Spirit in Sundered Frontier. She will give you the recipe to craft "the dragon's tongue staff".

• You'll need 1 shadebark
• You'll also need one "Asmyx" as the fuel. This can be found in Xalgozian Stronghold SOLO (or heroic) to the right of the stairs by the first named. There's also a bunch of other spots in the same room so multiple mages should be able to harvest some.

With these, you need to craft an item on an "Ancient Arcane Workbench" in Xalgozian Stronghold Heroic at -562, -18, 410. You can invis through the zone all way the way to this crafting station and get the update solo.

After this is crafted, go back to Sundered Frontier and speak to Lady Karkona's spirit. She'll tell you to wield the staff and destroy the cube. Equip the staff and fight the cube - it regenerates slightly.

Once the cube is destroyed, speak to Lady Karkona again - she'll tell you the spellpoxes are destroyed and that her debt is paid, and disappear.

Talk to Bellengere again, and he'll say his spellpox is lifted and reward you with the Ascension 7 reward - the Band of the Infinite.

Assistant Shortspanner's loc is , 986.87, 27.61, 1087.03. However, it seems the npc is still not working, unless I am missing something. I am at the part it says _Speak with a researcher of arcane artifacts who has dealt with curses..

 

You have to have done the entire AoM sigline to be able to talk to assistant Shortspanner about the epic. AoM sigline should be added the the prereqs.

This thread was amazing at first with the way updates were put in. Can we get a full walk through of what were up to sticky'ed somewhere at the top. I would gladly write it out if you like and even update it daily to reflect new steps with tips and tricks?!?!

 

Lair of Haunts [Quest Zone]

• Corrected an issue that caused the zone to not allow a group to zone in.
• Tombwatch L'Drykk can no longer be charmed.

Quest 4 Into the Maw:

Go back and talk to Bellengere the Three to attain this quest. Journal should now read: Into the Maw - Find fragments of a spell from a school other than my own.
